Before becoming a documentary filmmaker, Justine Shapiro had the good fortune to work as a longtime host of the award-winning PBS travel series Globe Trekker (created by Pilot Productions). The show took her off the beaten path to over 40 countries, where she found the inspiration to make first Promises (2001, with BZ Goldberg) and now My Summer in Tehran (Forthcoming, 2010).
